Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Cranberry eggnog tart

    • darcie_b on November 29, 2019

Overall a hit among the dinner guests. I had to cook the cranberry jelly longer than recipe indicated to obtain a proper set. Use the wrinkle test or whatever other test you normally use for jam to make sure it is done. The eggnog flavor was overpowered by the cranberry but my tart pan was a bit larger so the ratio was probably not quite as it should have been. Make sure you have plenty of custard between the cranberry layers.

  • Sautéed broccolini with garlic

    • Rutabaga on January 13, 2017

Simple and tasty - there's not much to this recipe, but it's a delicious way to serve broccolini. I like to double the amount of garlic.

  • Cheese-stuffed smoked pork chops on warm cabbage caraway slaw

    • Bloominanglophile on March 30, 2020

I was looking for a slaw to serve with bratwursts and a saute of some almost too-late-to-use potatoes and onions. Served its purpose, but I bet it is quite nice served with the intended pork chops.
