I was looking for the perfect morning bun recipe, and a pastry chef recommended this book. The morning bun recipe turned out to be exactly right.

Excellent filling, but not very good biscuit topping.

  • Banana-cocoa muffins

Loved the flavor and texture of these simple, delicious muffins. Be forewarned, however - the recipe says this makes 12 muffins. More like 28! It's a big batch. My office mates didn't mind, however, as it meant I had plenty to share.

They actually look like graham crackers! And taste like them! A tad overcooked I think, but delicious – with a cinnamon sugar coating on top.

Despite being delicious, they were a bit complicated to make. The dough, as seen above, is very soft and must not only be refrigerated for hours, but then also rolled out with copious amounts of flour

As Nancy Silverton promises, they are seriously addictive. They also offer a nice change of texture from the usual cookie tray offerings. They are bright and fruity with a nice satisfying crunch.
