      Light, but filling. Lightly spiced and not too sweet. Really nice. Would make this again

      If I could give this 10 stars I would! Make this at your own peril because once you start eating them you can't stop! Very easy to make, I made it on a worknight. And oh, they are 107 calories each. That stops me from eating half a dozen in one go.

      I used to live in York and I had been so craving these. Made with half currants and half mixed peel. Next time I might soak the currants first? Used Doves Farm GF flour and oat creme fraiche to make dairy-free. Might try without the egg to make vegan but thought I'd messed around enough this time. Really nice, will make again! I liked that it was a small batch of 6, they didn't last long!

      This is my go-to banana bread recipe - never lets me down. I tend to omit walnuts as my family aren't keen. It would be lovely with them though.
