Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Green herb salad dressing

    • TrishaCP on June 07, 2020

Delicious. The herbs were nice and bright and the dressing is very green!

  • Summer picnic pasta salad

    • TrishaCP on July 26, 2019

All together not bad, but I think the garlic oil detracted from the other fresh ingredients.

  • Tomato tart

    • blintz on September 29, 2014

This is a great end-of-summer savory tart. Easy and delicious. Second time I made it, I used some creamy feta instead of goat cheese and added kalamata olives. Great both ways. Careful with placement of the pan, that Dufour puff pastry burns easily if it's on a bottom rack. But it was the perfect size. I didn't have to roll it out--just unfolded it on the cookie sheet.

Easy & delicious. Have made it twice. Once with from scratch puff pastry & once with Pepperidge Farm.

  • Kale smoothie

    • bching on November 16, 2018

Very good! I would use a little more banana than called for--perhaps 7 ounces instead of 5 since the smoothie was thinner than I prefer.

Reviews about this book

  • Simply Recipes

Slightly left-of-center approaches in their recipes bring things like cucumbers into a creamy buttermilk sorbet and radishes into a butter made with sorrel.

Publishers Text

When Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge abandoned the big city for a goat farm, what started as a personal inquiry into natural living and reconnecting with the earth exploded into a wildly successful enterprise, Beekman 1802, named after their historic home. World-renowned for its handcrafted goat’s milk soaps and artisanal Blaak cheese, the organic lifestyle brand now has taken over the Beekman gardens as well. The Beekman 1802 Heirloom Vegetable Cookbook is a delectable yearlong trip through the Beekman vegetable bounty and is packed with simple, delicious, and seasonal vegetable-forward recipes that will have readers counting down the months to green shoots every year.

With more than 90,000 Facebook fans and almost 20,000 Twitter followers who follow their every move, the Beekmans are fast becoming a household name that immediately conjures up on-trend images of vintage country, upscale Americana.
