      I use lamb leg steaks instead of chuck.

      When I make it for family I don't sieve it, I just mash the blackberries a bit. I use 5 sheets of gelatine instead of the powder.

      This recipe has both metric and imperial measurements, but they don't match up - so one of them is wrong and I think it's the metric, which ends up with a lower proportion of butter. I followed the metric measurements and while it was good and short, it was almost too short. I think following the imperial measurements would make for a better result.

      To follow up on Foodycat's note - all of the 1oz measurements in the Shortbread recipe have been converted to 25g - except for the flour, where 5oz has been converted to 150g. It should have been converted to 125g Flour. A better conversion would have been 30g per oz, when the recipe would be: 150g Flour Pinch of Salt 30g ground rice 60g Caster Sugar 120g Butter Caster Sugar for Dredging
