Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Ching's chicken chau chau parida

    • Astrid5555 on October 03, 2021

This is indeed a very quick stiry-fry, perfectly weeknight friendly. Instead of parboiling the broccolini I added some chicken stock I had on hand in the end and cooked everything with the lid closed for 2 minutes longer.

  • Shrimp "ban" mein

    • Astrid5555 on July 22, 2021

This is a delicious and quick dinner option. Used Ramen noodles, not sure these were the right ones, but they worked beautifully, and broccoli instead of beansprouts. Will go into regular rotation.

  • Oyster sauce beef and broccolini

    • joneshayley on November 17, 2020

Fast easy and delicious. This book has so many quick hits, it’s my go-to in a rush.

  • Five-spice saucy chicken stir-fry

    • joneshayley on June 25, 2020

Great recipe! Super fast, full of flavour, I’d be more than happy to be served this at a Chinese restaurant

  • Pork, kimchi and water chestnut fried rice

    • Lepa on July 17, 2021

This recipe sounded- and looked incredible but it was just okay. I tried to double the recipe to feed a family of four and that may have been a mistake, as the volume was a bit hard to handle in the wok. The resulting dish was a bit too spicy (for the kids) and the flavor wasn't as complex as I had hoped.

Publishers Text

Fast, fresh and fun dishes are at the heart of this book, a celebration of the wok, demonstrating its versatility and featuring recipes from places across Asia, including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Vietnam.

This modern collection of recipes, from dumplings and curries to stir-fries, is simple enough for every day and every cook. Each dish can be made in 30 minutes or less and has been created with nutrition, taste and affordability in mind. Asian dishes typically include lots of vegetables and Ching has kept to this, ensuring that many of her recipes are suitable for vegetarian and vegans as well as those with gluten and dairy allergies. Fresh produce and ingredients that are readily available in supermarkets are also key to these dishes, which feature steamfrying, flash-frying, braising and stir-frying. A stunning and accessible guide, Wok On will inspire you, showing you how to wok this way.
