  • My favourite speedy sausage pizza

    • KarinaFrancis on October 30, 2020

A quick dinner for a lazy Friday night. The flavours really work well together and it was very easy to make. The downside is that the base isn’t great. I’m definitely trying this again but I might sub in the yogurt flatbread recipe from 5 ingredients.

    • sjwill82 on November 23, 2020

Used sourdough I had leftover. I loved the combination of flavors especially the surprise of grapes. I also added olives I had.

  • Sesame roast chicken

    • KarinaFrancis on December 12, 2020

I used this as a blueprint more than following the recipe to the letter. I merged it with the method for the tikka masala chicken from 5 Ingredients by setting on a rack over some vegetables. Truthfully, the kimch flavour didn’t really come through strongly in the chicken, but the vegetables were stellar

  • Golden Parmesan fish bake

    • KarinaFrancis on October 05, 2020

Delicious, quick and easy. I wish I had some bread to mop up the juices! Great weeknight dinner

    • sjwill82 on October 09, 2020

This dish is simple to make but tastes impressive. The sauce is plentiful so I would recommend bread if you don't want to waste any. I will be making this again.

  • Cumberland roast chicken

    • KarinaFrancis on November 29, 2020

I took this recipe as a guide more than a ridged instruction, using pork and fennel sausages instead of Cumberland and spatchcocking the chicken. The sausage squeezing part was a bit icky but was worth it because the breast was super juicy with crispy skin.

  • Prosciutto pork fillet

    • KarinaFrancis on September 09, 2020

Holy moly this was fantastic! The pork is tender and juicy contrasting against the salty, crispy prosciutto. The baked gnocchi with peas could stand alone or be a fridge forage dinner. As a pair they work brilliantly. I’ll make this again for sure.

    • sjwill82 on October 15, 2020

The flavors were fantastic and the meat was very tender. My only complaint is that I think I boiled the sauce too hard before it went in the oven so it came out a bit dry. I will definitely be repeating

  • Sweet potato stew

    • mckittrickp on December 31, 2020

  • Jerk spiced chicken in a bun

    • sjwill82 on January 28, 2021

Made my own jerk seasoning blend- fantastic flavors and loved the addition of pineapple.

    • etcjm on April 28, 2021

Perfectly ok, but not one I would cook again. I just didn't like the texture of the warm pineapple. Very odd alongside the chicken.

  • Avocado & chickpea toastie

    • sjwill82 on November 20, 2020

Would recommend a medium oven - I had to take out early as the toast edges were getting burnt. Also if you have a smallish avocado I would recommend two. Otherwise a tasty lunch!

  • Beautiful baked avocado

    • sjwill82 on November 11, 2020

Really comforting and filling. Quick to put together and was perfect for a working from home lunch. Added local feta cheese.

  • Creamy broccoli risotto

    • sjwill82 on January 07, 2021

Made it with some substitutions- did not have any white onions so substituted a leek (which I thought would be better than red onion) Also did not have any gorgonzola so used another local blue cheese. Pleased with the result. Needed extra cooking time before the rice was tender.

  • Avocado Hollandaise

    • sjwill82 on April 12, 2021

Made with salmon instead of white fish. Simple and definitely will be a repeat. Smooth, silky and delicious sauce.

  • Sausage casserole

    • sjwill82 on December 17, 2020

We all enjoyed this. Incredibly filling. I made several smaller potato balls to spread around the pan. I would perhaps use a bit more liquid next time

    • averythingcooks on May 24, 2021

I scaled this back for 2 people and we loved it. I used 3 Italian sausages and cut them in half before "hasselbacking" them. I had balsamic oven roasted tomatoes and both black & navy beans in the freezer to use up. I simply eyeballed in beef broth (in place of water & bean juice) as I went. The mustardy potato mounds were great and the HP was a smart addition to the super tasty "gravy". My only issue is that I would either cut the carrots smaller OR start them alone to get them softer. An absolute repeat.

  • Creamy prawn-stuffed salmon

    • sjwill82 on October 21, 2020

I used broccoli as a substitute for spinach as my family are not keen on spinach. This was a hit and will be made again! I was skeptical but the flavors were bold and worked well together.

  • Easy salmon en croute

    • sjwill82 on March 18, 2021

The family really enjoyed this (I don't think I have ever seen the kids eat spinach before!) I did not have red pesto but green pesto was perfect as a change. Substantial meal and didn't need the potatoes I made as a side. Good with a green salad. Will definitely make again.

  • Sunshine egg salad

    • sjwill82 on January 18, 2021

Healthy working from home lunch that was quick and simple to put together. Very filling. I didn't have dukka but made a home made version with what I had on hand, Also did not have any spinach so used a handful of ruccola for a splash of green

  • Gingery garlicky black bean bean beef

    • sjwill82 on February 23, 2021

All the family enjoyed this. I toned done the chilli for our 2 year old. Didn't have blackbean sauce so used hoisin and honey and it worked well. Served with tenderstem broccoli stirfried with sesame seeds for some extra greens.

    • lou_weez on October 23, 2020

Really tasty dish. Served it with noodles.

    • angrygreycat on January 17, 2021

Really tasty, the egg on top was a really nice touch. served with basmati rice

  • Pork & apple meatballs

    • sjwill82 on November 26, 2020

I didn't have any white bread so I used brown bread. The result tasted good but the sauce was not the green shade pictured! I would repeat the technique of poaching the meatballs and using the poaching liquid to make a sauce. The whole family were happy.

  • Crispy potato pie

    • sjwill82 on January 21, 2021

I made the mistake of not cooking my potatoes quite long enough and I think the trick to this dish is having a really well mashed potato. Mine was still a bit lumpy which meant it broke up a little. All in all though the dish was tasty and different.

  • Special scrambled eggs

    • sjwill82 on December 15, 2020

I will be making this again. Simple and filling lunch that packs a punch and was quick to put together.

  • Harissa roast chicken

    • sjwill82 on April 06, 2021

In my oven I needed longer than the suggested time to cook my potatoes through. I think next time I would cut them up into smaller pieces.

    • Cvtbird on March 20, 2021

I don’t think the nutritional values are correct for this recipe. Certainly the carbs are not correct. Great recipe though. Needs seasoning.

  • Roast chicken Margherita

    • sjwill82 on October 22, 2020

The roast chicken was good but the roast tomatoes with all the chicken juices made it. I feel like my oven could have been 10 c warmer. My potatoes however melted and flattened out over my baking tray - still went down well if not what expected.

  • Prawn toast toastie

    • sjwill82 on November 26, 2020

I thought the flavors were great but due to the moisture in the soy sauce and chopped prawns I found my toast ended up soggy. I used a frying pan on a medium high heat but I did not place a weight on top to help the cooking so perhaps this would have helped.

  • Easy prawn curry

    • sjwill82 on December 21, 2020

Very easy and flavorsome curry in a hurry. The rice cake did not cook in the time suggested and I had to add more water cover with a lid and cook further. Next time I would just cook rice as I normally do.

  • Creamy prawn linguine

    • sjwill82 on November 03, 2020

Substituted cream cheese from local dairy as we had no mascarpone. Was delicious and would make again

  • Prawn poke bowl

    • sjwill82 on January 14, 2021

Wholesome and healthy fast lunch. I didn't have radishes this time-but the dressing and mango in my opinion are a highlight so I wouldn't skip. Would swap out prawns for chicken or salmon another time.

  • Mushroom toad-in-the-hole

    • kateastoria on September 17, 2020

Gravy was very flat. Added miso, soy sauce, Worcester and a bit of sugar for depth.

    • BasicStock on March 21, 2021

I liked this. I got the last four portobellos at the market, not the pick of the litter, and next time I want big meaty ones as they shrink up when roasted. My batter puffed up wonderfully, and next time I'll add some grated parmesan to it. As kateastoria commented, the onion gravy lacked character, so I think I'll use chicken or beef stock next time along with her other suggestions. Will also try it with sausages and some roasted apple slices.

  • Sweet potato & chicken chop suey

    • lou_weez on February 06, 2021

Good mid-week meal, easy with nice flavours. I used a frozen stir-fry vege mix as we are not fans of baby corn.

  • Sausage pasta

    • lou_weez on January 07, 2021

Tasty mid-week meal. Used pork sausages and omitted the chilli as it needed to be kid friendly.

  • Cauliflower & chickpea curry

    • lou_weez on November 03, 2020

Delicious, easy dinner. Would add some baby spinach next time. Didn't bother making the bread, but served it with rice and shop bought naan. Recipes says serves 6 but it's more like 8.

  • Easiest broccoli quiche

    • averythingcooks on July 04, 2021

I gave this a try (even if a little skeptical about the cottage cheese) BUT it was pretty tasty & very easy. My only issue - he calls for the phyllo in oz (9.5). Why not just give the number of sheets to use (or layers needed if you have to piece it together / cut sheets in 1/2 for a smaller pan etc)? Oh well, I think I made 6 - 7 layers. I did not grate the actual stalks (ie just used the florets), I added some roasted red pepper to the mix & I subbed grainy mustard for the English. This does have a different texture (lighter?) than traditional quiche but I'd make it again if I had cottage cheese in the fridge.

  • Sticky miso peppers

    • hbakke on April 11, 2021

Not my favorite tofu preparation. The tofu was kind of bland and there wasn't much of a sauce to coat the rice vermicelli noodles. This recipe felt like a few separate ideas pushed together into one recipe. Not a repeat for me.
