    Olive oil-bathed green beans and tomatoes (pg. 160). I tried but I just couldn't do it - cook the beans as long as the recipe calls for. Yes, I read the comments about the Arab habit of cooking green beans until very soft, but I still couldn't bring myself to ruin the beautiful beans. I settled on about 30 minutes, softer than I would normally cook them but still having a little bite left. Tomatoes, garlic, and onion are cooked with the beans making a very tasty combination. I will certainly repeat this recipe and continue to ignore the recipe on cooking time.
