      Omitted the garnishes. Beautiful savory flavor and kept well enough in a lunchbox for the week. Will keep in my back pocket as a Japanese recipe for chrysanthemum greens.

  • Tofu cake (Toufu ke-ki)

      This was a peculiar little dessert that I found at first off-putting but grew to quite like throughout the week. The texture is almost like a crustless tofu cheesecake and the sweetness is derived solely from the jam. Kept well and was remarkably wholesome for a dessert. Subbed 2 tsp agar powder for the flakes.
