  • Spiced silan carrots

Amazing!! Even our daughter who is not a big carrot fan thought were delicious. Definitely added to the regular dinner rotation.

OMG the carrots taste like candy. I couldn't stop eating them. I left out the olives and lemon and the flavors of date syrup and the spices are so incredible. I will be making this more often. Just roast it five min less if carrots are thin and use tiny bit less oil. Make sure to turn after 10 min.

  • Tahini cookies

Wow! These are SO good! Taste, texture, smell. Omg ??! However, my dough was very soft (too soft) to form into balls. I added a bit more flour (maybe ¼ cup? Did it by hand until it was a wee bit stiffer) then chilled the dough as is for about 1 ½ hours. Then formed into balls, placed on almonds, and chilled again (about an hour). Wow! Insanely good. And they made way more than 15; minimum 24… I would have to say that this recipe alone was worth the price of the book. I live in Austria and our butter here is higher in butterfat than in the US. Maybe that’s why my dough was ‘sloppy’. Alternatively, my tahini was very liquid. Who knows? But they worked anyway. Yum.

Really easy with the Amba Spice Blend from La Boîte. Looking forward to trying the sweet/tart/earthy sauce on various things.
