    Bara Brith page 479 Short story: Really good cake. Long story: I like to read cookbooks. Before Eat Your Books, I would use Excel to create my Try This list. Lately I have been transferring any recipes from unindexed books into my EYB account by adding them as Personal Recipes. It's an enjoyable past-time, not a chore. A bit like reading the book over again. My kind of relaxation. This week, I tidied a pantry shelf that was getting unruly, and was about to throw out a box of teabags that no-one had taken to. They were Rose with French Vanilla black tea and had sat there for ages. It occurred to me to check the recipes filter-by-ingredients for something that used black tea before throwing out the box. It led me to this recipe, previously untried, and I thought that the scented black tea should work. We are really enjoying this rose-vanilla fruit cake, so the tea bags will stay in the pantry until used. Then it will be the turn of the Italian Almond teabags! I love EYB!

      Colourful and vibrant soup. Lovely flavours and the orange zest takes it to another level. Used soup maker. A and J who were here working loved it for lunch.
