    Golden brown sauteed yellow corncakes (pg 16) or as known in my family simply as cornmeal pancakes. Made with buttermilk and bacon dripping, this is your Grandmother's corncakes - very satisfying and tasty.

  • Chicken pot pie

      I used store cooked chicken breast so I changed the steps. Sautéed veg in butter, added carrot and parsnip and broth…simmered until carrots almost done than added potatoes and cooked about 7 minutes . Made a slurry of 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup flour to thicken mixture. Add cooked chicken and adjusted seasoning. Simmer until thickened. Cool a bit before finishing. I used the pie crust recipe from this cookbook as well
