  • Chicken supreme kiev-style

      I just made this recipe, and it turned out wonderful. I halved the recipe, used 8 oz chicken breasts, chopped the mushrooms/onion in a food processor, substituted egg for milk to coat the chicken, used pre-made bread crumbs to save time, and baked for 24 minutes (to compensate for the larger pieces of meat). The chicken was just cooked through, and the mushroom filling helped keep the inside tender and juicy. I'll definitely be making it again.

      I used creme fraiche that I had on hand and needed to use up and did not strain all the soup as we like a bit of texture.

  • Potato and spinach galette

      I had reservations about making this dish, as I find most potato dishes not laden with unhealthy amounts of fat (cream, butter, bacon, cheese etc.) not very tasty. IThis was surprisingly tasty. I did follow the instruction and cook it on the stove top at the end, however by then, the potatoes were already stuck to the pan. Definitely making again, however may just bake in a casserole pan and broil the top.

  • Chicken legs with wine and yams

      Chicken came out perfect at instructed time. I cut the yams in chunks instead of leaving them halved. Had a very winey taste. There will be left over braising liquid which might make a good addition to a soup. Overall a nice dish, especially since lower in fat, but nothing to write home about.
