Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Oven-fried chicken

    • twoyolks on May 08, 2020

      Nice oven fried chicken.

  • Roasted yams

    • twoyolks on December 04, 2020

A simple and fast roast sweet potato recipe that turned out great.

  • Green garlic chicken

    • twoyolks on April 23, 2020

The chicken was nice but only gained a little bit of flavor from the green garlic. It was basically roasted chicken thighs. I found the raw vinaigrette to be too strong to eat.

  • Grilled thighs with blistered BBQ sauce

    • twoyolks on April 11, 2020

I liked this well enough. The BBQ sauce is unusual and the flavor really reminded me of deviled eggs.

  • Purple slaw

    • twoyolks on April 11, 2020

A very basic coleslaw. Not bad but not great.

  • Cheddar biscuits

    • twoyolks on April 11, 2020

These were pretty good but the cheese never really homogenized with the biscuit batter so there were pieces of cheese throughout the biscuits.

  • Chicken pie

    • twoyolks on April 11, 2020

Pretty simple with great flavor and a great way to use up leftover roast chicken. The leeks really add a lot of flavor. I substituted thyme for the tarragon which worked well.

  • Chicken-fennel meatballs

    • bwhip on September 26, 2020

These were great meatballs, and we really enjoyed the Angel Hair pasta with fresh tomato sauce from our garden. The recommended salad of Endive, Radicchio and Apple was okay, but the meatballs and pasta were the star of the show. Makes a very large batch.

  • Gai yang

    • bernalgirl on September 01, 2020

Very tasty, very easy, a keeper.

Publishers Text

Poulet is more than just a cookbook dedicated to chicken: it is an ode to this worldwide favorite. More than 50 thoughtful recipes cover the globe to breathe new life into the well-loved chicken supper. Five chapters are organized by flavor profile -- American, Bistro, Latin, East and South Asian, and North African/Mediterranean -- to bring to the table wherever you live. Each recipe is organized into a set matching a main course of chicken with a complementary grain, salad, vegetable, or bread. Author Cree LeFavour's sophistication and humor, coupled with wine, cocktail, and beer suggestions, spark a new appreciation of a time-honored favorite.
