  • All-in-one holiday bundt cake

    • vickster on December 27, 2015

Really good cake. Not too sweet and good flavors with the pumpkin, cranberries and spices. It came out a bit dry, so I will probably check at 45 minutes next time.

  • Great grains muffins

    • Delys77 on February 13, 2013

These are excellent little tea or snack muffins. Mildly sweet with a nice hit of flavour from the dried prunes. Would definitely make again. Also, they are about half whole grain but you can hardly tell as the texture is so nice.

  • My best chocolate chip cookies

    • Delys77 on February 08, 2012

These are absolutely fabulous. The recipe made about 18 good sized cookies and took about 12 minutes in the oven.  She is right that the technique yields a crisp yet very chewy cookie that has tonnes of chocolate, just the way I like them.

The videos are where the app really shines, because of Dorie herself. She speaks in that, well, charming voice of hers, and it’s all so laid-back, approachable and, of course, useful.

Reviews about Recipes in this Book

  • Corniest corn muffins

    • New York Times

The muffins emerged from the oven flat-topped, as Ms. Greenspan had said they would be, grainy and only lightly sweet, interspersed with small, sunny kernel bursts, and delicious eaten fresh...

  • Rugelach

    • New York Times

They came out tiny — about an inch long — and crisp and brown, with a flaky crust. The tidiness of rolling the rugelach into crescents was offset by the filling that seeped out in rustic smudges.
