    Culinary memoir about the authors time in Iran and Lebanon. Includes some recipes from those countries. Nicely written, I liked the balance of 'serious' history and 'lighter' food related subjects.

      Really good recipe. Can also be eaten as a simple main course. Easy to make.

  • Red mjadara (Umm Hassane's mjadara hamra)

      really delicious. Recipe requires a lot of stirring the onions (40 mins) and also resting for one hour, but the effort is well worth it. Has a lot of extra depth of flavour. Excellent with a salad/yoghurt (something sour).
