      I could never get this dough to roll out properly, even when adequately chilled. Finally made balls of dough and topped with marmalade. Cookie had a good flavor but what a mess.

      Good flavor but very difficult to remove from glass pie pan. Next time shape and cut on parchment or a silicone mat.

  • Walnut-cardamom Viennese crescents

      Mexican wedding cake/Russian tea cake-style cookies made with walnuts and flavored with cardamom, orange zest and vanilla. Classic buttery flavor and sandy texture. Walnut, cardamom and orange flavors work great together - I cut back on the cardamom a bit if it's very fresh, otherwise it tends to dominate the other flavors.
