    The picture attached to the recipe here and the link go to a Food52 article/recipe for a chocolate roulade, but Erin Jeanne McDowell is the author. The sponge turned about very good. That gets 5 stars. The whipped cream as a filling was fine, just not exciting. Next time I'll try adding a layer of jam or something else to punch it up a bit. I made it as a traditional horizontal roll and didn't need all the whipped cream the recipe calls for as I didn't use it to cover the outside of the cake.
