    These cookies don't really taste good. They aren't truly gingerbread and aren't truly shortbread. The flavor of the blackstrap molasses overwhelms most of the other flavors. The dough was difficult to mix when you follow the directions, and the cookies never crisp up. My husband wanted me to toss out the entire batch after tasting one. I didn't make the curd because the cookies were such a disappointment.
