    Well this was a delightful surprise! I had a whole box of clementines that were languishing so decided to give this recipe a go. I need an intervention to keep me away from the pan! The clementine flavor is very pronounced, accented beautifully by rich buttery poundcake notes. I cut into it while still warm forgetting that the recipe explicitly stated not to do this. I have no regrets about it. Will most definitely make this again.

    This cake is absolutely divine! It is subtle in flavor buy also rich and velvety. Very satisfying. Take care to beat the butter and sugar until it is fluffy, and then beat each egg in completely before adding the next as the cake does not use a leavener.
