Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

    I omitted the nuts and used all AP flour. I had sweetened applesauce, so I reduced the sugar to 3/4 cup. This was very good and nicely balanced, but the allspice was too strong, giving the bread a menthol note. Reduce by half next time. Baked for 60 mins. Might be the tiniest bit overbaked. Next time try 55.

    This bread tastes of neither applesauce nor oatmeal, but is pleasantly sweet and has a lovely texture. Ground cardamom is a nice addition. I will reduce sugar to 3/4 cup next time.
