Oven-barbecued Asian chicken from EatingWell Magazine, Nov/Dec 2011 (page 30)

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Delicious. I realized I was out of hoisin sauce and had to make my own. We thought the homemade (prunes, rice wine vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce, and sesame oil) brought out the flavor of the remainder of the sauce ingredients (especially the minced ginger) better than bottled hoisin. The sauce was wonderful over the chicken, and went well with steamed rice and steamed broccoli accompaniments. I used legs with thighs attached. My chicken was baked 10 degrees beyond the temperature called for at 40 minutes in my oven. It tasted just right to us. Husband has asked me to repeat this. A keeper- especially with homemade hoisin.
