  • Hmm, a bit too "healthy" tasting for my sweet tooth. They are more of a cakey cookie without any chew (which would have been my preference). I'm sure they appeal to certain people, but they are not a repeat for me.

  • An ugly, but tasty dinner. The sauce was interesting in a good way and the rice soaked it up nicely. I would make this again.

  • Easy, fast side dish.

  • Tasty dinner dish. It was sweeter than I would have preferred, so I would reduce the amount of honey next time. I subbed extra-firm tofu for the halloumi cheese.

  • These were delicious cookies. I made them smaller and used mini chocolate chips because it was what I had in the pantry. I think I would add more banana chips next time since I wanted more banana flavor. I found the recipe online here: https://people.com/food/christina-tosi-chocolate-chip-peanut-butter-amp-banana-cookies/

  • I had an enormous aubergine, so the ratios were probably off for me. This was a simple recipe that I would make again. Next time I'll cook the aubergine a bit longer initially since it was still a bit undercooked at the end of cooking.

  • Delicious chocolate banana bread recipe that was perfectly baked at the specified time (a rare occurrence with my poor baking skills). I initially thought the coating of Demerara sugar would make the banana bread too sweet, but it was perfect and added a nice crunchy contrast of texture. I would make this again.

  • Delicious! I would add more veg next time and try to find a red chile (rather than the jalapeño I used), but the sauce was very good. I couldn't find tamarind paste, so I used tamarind pulp mixed with water then strained out the seeds/pod bits. I would make this again.

  • We loved the grilled (on the grill pan) shrimp combined with the sauce. I may have overcooked the vegetables a bit, but they still tasted great. We served this with a side of rice, but the napa cabbage accompaniment is something I'll try next time. Besides the veg prep, this came together fairly quickly. I would make this again.

  • Very spicy...inedibly so. I weighed the ingredients to ensure I had the correct amount, so I know I didn't use too much jalapeño. It's possible that I got a batch of incredibly spicy jalapeños, but this recipe is not a repeat for me.

  • This isn't much of a recipe (more of a template)...simply roasting potatoes and poblano peppers and adding to a tortilla with the toppings of your choice. The outcome really depends on the toppings you decide to use. I added cilantro, roasted corn, cotija cheese, lime crema, and some seasoned tomatoes/salsa. They turned out well.

  • I "fried" the tofu cubes in a tiny bit of oil (rather than the specified 1/2 cup) in a nonstick pan to cut back on calories and halved the amount of sugar because my sweet soy sauce was plenty sweet. I don't think either modification affected the outcome of the recipe. I really enjoyed this recipe and the flavorul buttery sauce. I would make this again.

  • Nice cocktail. Tasted like a boozy candy apple to me.

  • Easy, tasty dinner. I used slightly more beans, salsa verde, and green chiles than specified in the recipe. I garnished the chili with scallion, chipotle chile powder, tomato, cheese, and sour cream. I would make this again.

  • I used baby cauliflower, but otherwise followed the recipe. I didn't love this. Turmeric always tastes like dirt to me, so I was hoping the lime and red pepper flakes would hide the flavor a bit more than they did. Not a repeat for me.

  • Simple, flavorful side dish. I subbed regular soy sauce for the specified low sodium soy sauce and it was much too salty. I would make this again, but use the correct ingredients.

  • We both liked the marinade on the salmon. The marinade burned to the pan a bit, so I'll be sure to use parchment paper next time for easier cleanup. Overall, this was a nice preparation of salmon.

  • I loved the spice mixture and addition of beans to this shakshuka. I would make this again.

  • Easy and tasty dessert recipe. The baking times were off for me. I pulled the crisp out of the oven 10 minutes early and it was already pretty dark. I would keep a close eye on it next time in the oven.

  • Yum! We both liked this soup. The spices were nicely different from your average tomato soup and we liked the creaminess from the butternut squash. I would make this again in the autumn.

  • Tempeh was tasty from the marinade, but the effort of making 2 different sauces and a marinade wasn't worth it in the end. I'm not sure if the author is soy sauce averse, but I think prep time (and my patience) could have benefited from replacing a few sauce ingredients with tamari or soy sauce. Not a repeat for me.

  • Crisp exterior and chewy on the inside. These were nice, little gluten-free cookies. I loved the little pops of dried apricot. I would make these again.

  • My tofu crumbled significantly more than what is shown in the book photo, but still tasted good. I only used one package of tofu and increased the amount of cucumber and bell pepper in the salad. The accompanying salad was good, but was better with a bit more sumac sprinkled on top. I do think the hummus was essential as it adds a welcome creamy component to the dish. I would make this again.

  • These turned out great, despite my pantry being a bit short of the required amount of marshmallows. The sweetened condensed milk adds a slightly different, but welcome flavor. I would make these again and add the optional additional marshmallows for the add chewiness.
