  • We loved the grilled (on the grill pan) shrimp combined with the sauce. I may have overcooked the vegetables a bit, but they still tasted great. We served this with a side of rice, but the napa cabbage accompaniment is something I'll try next time. Besides the veg prep, this came together fairly quickly. I would make this again.

  • Very spicy...inedibly so. I weighed the ingredients to ensure I had the correct amount, so I know I didn't use too much jalapeño. It's possible that I got a batch of incredibly spicy jalapeños, but this recipe is not a repeat for me.

  • This isn't much of a recipe (more of a template)...simply roasting potatoes and poblano peppers and adding to a tortilla with the toppings of your choice. The outcome really depends on the toppings you decide to use. I added cilantro, roasted corn, cotija cheese, lime crema, and some seasoned tomatoes/salsa. They turned out well.

  • I "fried" the tofu cubes in a tiny bit of oil (rather than the specified 1/2 cup) in a nonstick pan to cut back on calories and halved the amount of sugar because my sweet soy sauce was plenty sweet. I don't think either modification affected the outcome of the recipe. I really enjoyed this recipe and the flavorul buttery sauce. I would make this again.

  • Nice cocktail. Tasted like a boozy candy apple to me.

  • Easy, tasty dinner. I used slightly more beans, salsa verde, and green chiles than specified in the recipe. I garnished the chili with scallion, chipotle chile powder, tomato, cheese, and sour cream. I would make this again.

  • I used baby cauliflower, but otherwise followed the recipe. I didn't love this. Turmeric always tastes like dirt to me, so I was hoping the lime and red pepper flakes would hide the flavor a bit more than they did. Not a repeat for me.

  • Simple, flavorful side dish. I subbed regular soy sauce for the specified low sodium soy sauce and it was much too salty. I would make this again, but use the correct ingredients.

  • We both liked the marinade on the salmon. The marinade burned to the pan a bit, so I'll be sure to use parchment paper next time for easier cleanup. Overall, this was a nice preparation of salmon.

  • I loved the spice mixture and addition of beans to this shakshuka. I would make this again.

  • Easy and tasty dessert recipe. The baking times were off for me. I pulled the crisp out of the oven 10 minutes early and it was already pretty dark. I would keep a close eye on it next time in the oven.

  • Yum! We both liked this soup. The spices were nicely different from your average tomato soup and we liked the creaminess from the butternut squash. I would make this again in the autumn.

  • Tempeh was tasty from the marinade, but the effort of making 2 different sauces and a marinade wasn't worth it in the end. I'm not sure if the author is soy sauce averse, but I think prep time (and my patience) could have benefited from replacing a few sauce ingredients with tamari or soy sauce. Not a repeat for me.

  • Somewhat flavorful, but more watery than I thought it would be.

  • Crisp exterior and chewy on the inside. These were nice, little gluten-free cookies. I loved the little pops of dried apricot. I would make these again.

  • My tofu crumbled significantly more than what is shown in the book photo, but still tasted good. I only used one package of tofu and increased the amount of cucumber and bell pepper in the salad. The accompanying salad was good, but was better with a bit more sumac sprinkled on top. I do think the hummus was essential as it adds a welcome creamy component to the dish. I would make this again.

  • These turned out great, despite my pantry being a bit short of the required amount of marshmallows. The sweetened condensed milk adds a slightly different, but welcome flavor. I would make these again and add the optional additional marshmallows for the add chewiness.

  • This was great served as a topping/side for tacos. I did add more spices and salt since there was quite a bit of corn that needed to be seasoned. I would make this again.

  • The bean filling seemed to be missing some acidity, so I added lime juice and that perked it up. I didn't make the cilantro pesto, so that may have been the element that was missing for me. Overall, these were good tacos that I added salsa and other taco toppings to for added texture.

  • I added extra arugula to make this more of a salad and used the suggested blend of balsamic and white wine vinegar as a substitution for white balsamic. I cooked the wheat berries in a pressure cooker ahead of time to save time later. We both really liked the combination of ingredients, crunchy, salty, and sweet from the pistachios, feta, and grapes. I would make this again.

  • Easy way to cook wheat berries. I added salt to the pressure cooker to season the wheat berries as they cooked. I would cook wheat berries using this recipe again.

  • Tasty snack mix. I used more cereal than nuts for personal preferences. I mistakenly added all the lime juice/zest to the dressing mix, and I think it would have better adding them at the end per the recipe instructions. The finished snack mix seemed to be missing the added acidity from the lime.

  • Nice, simple sauce. Spicy, but on the sweeter side. I thought it paired well with this books Eggplant and tofu recipe.

  • We liked this. The sauce initially seemed too sweet, but combined with the slightly bitter eggplant it was perfect. I think the crunchy topping are essential for the added texture. I would make this again.

  • Nice lentil curry. My red curry paste was pretty bland so that affected the flavor of the finished curry. I would use a more flavorful paste if I made this again. I didn't really care for the cilantro chutney. It was very one note cilantro.
