  • My husband and I both enjoyed this dish. He usually hates zucchini, so I called it "pesto soup." He didn't know the difference because the soup is so flavorful. I added the pesto option slowly, tasting as I went, and didn't find it overpowering.

  • Not a pretty dish for company, but a delicious weeknight meal. The dish reminds me of a hash. The cabbage adds an interesting, but not overpowering flavor. Very different from the norm, and sure to be repeated.

  • Loved the addition of apple cider vinegar.

  • Excellent taste. The texture was a bit mushy (my fault, I'm sure), so be sure not to overcook the lentils before adding rice. I offered a bit of Harissa with the dish to give it some color.

  • This dish turned out very well. We found the spices to be very engaging--I followed the recipe exactly, which meant using a light hand. The taste of the resulting sauce was complex and not at all overpowering, despite the fact that the recipe calls for 25 cloves of garlic. The slow cooking made the chicken to turn out perfectly moist, and the potatoes were to die for! I served it with a simple vegetable (steamed broccoli) for a satisfying meal.

  • With the short cooking time, I was unsure how flavorful it would be. No need to worry. The chicken and veggies were perfectly cooked, and the broth was delicious. I made the soup exactly as written.

  • I made this recipe to use up the vegetables from my crisper, and was very happy with the results. I think that the addition of scallions and yogurt at the end is essential. I think a previous reviewer had a good idea. Double the beans and you'll have a satisfying one pot meal.

  • Dream weeknight recipe because of its simple ingredient list and easy prep. Delicious!

  • This has been my "go-to" cookbook lately. The recipes are simple, authentic, and reliable. I have other Indian cookbooks, but I seem to reach for this one more than any of the others.

  • I thought this soup was just fine. (I'm not a big soup lover). However, my husband was over the top with joy when he ate this quick, healthy and easy soup! He gave it a 5, but I lowered it to a 4.5. I made the soup exactly as the recipe stated, using all canned ingredients. Only change is that I didn't drain my organic canned beans before adding them to the soup.

  • This recipe turned out a fragrant and moist curry. The only change I made was to use reduced-fat coconut milk, and we found it creamy enough. Yet another "keeper" recipe from one of my favorite weeknight cookbooks.

  • Another winning recipe from an exceptional cookbook. I served this with rice and fish (as suggested), with broccolini for color. Great meal.

  • I made the cake exactly as written. Though not as pretty as the associated picture, it had a great crumb and tasted wonderful.

  • I was unsuccessful with a different paella recipe, but I had all the ingredients at home (except chorizo) and decided to give this recipe a try. It's terrific! I surprised myself with this dish that was pretty easy but looks complex. My family loved it!

  • Perfectly good recipe that has absolutely no resemblance to the chop suey that I'm familiar with. I had all the ingredients at home and gave it a try. It makes a good weeknight supper that kids would probably enjoy.

  • This recipe is indeed foolproof. The turkey was moist and delicious. It was one of the best turkeys I have ever made! The recipe is a keeper.

  • My husband loved this recipe (gave it an "8 out of 10"), but I thought it was just okay. I think it was the texture rather than the taste that made me less enamored. Perhaps I'll try it again, adding a little garnish of tortilla chips to give it something to chew on.

  • Loved the taste of this sauce. It has the flavor of an Indian dal with the added kick of lemon juice and artichoke hearts. Tasted great over pasta. I'll be sure to make this again, because I usually have all of the ingredients in my pantry. It's a bit of a colorless dish, so I would serve it along with greens or something else to add color to your plate.

  • This was absolutely delicious. Followed the recipe almost exactly. My husband dislikes caramelized onions, so we did the "quick" option of frying them over higher heat. I also added a miniscule amount of extra seasoning after tasting. I like the fact that the seasoning is light--it makes it a very fresh-tasting dish.

  • This was well-received at a pot luck. It makes a LOT--I'd cut it in half for a family of four. I thought it was delicious. The flavors were light and went well together. I made it with tart dried cherries, and I think I prefer the flavor to cranberries.

  • This a perfectly simple and perfectly delicious recipe for our lemon-loving family.

  • This is a basic roasted chicken breast recipe, made even simpler by the step by step instructions that cut back cooking times (microwave potatoes before sautéing) and cleanup. The meal was terrific.
