  • This is a deliciously different recipe, great for barbecues or summer potlucks. The highly refreshing salad is a snap to put together.

  • My dream recipe. Easy and very authentic. This will surely be a regular dish at our house!

  • Simplicity itself. I made this recipe with store-bought rotisserie chicken. My family absolutely loved the tostadas. Sometimes the easiest recipes turn out to be the tastiest.

  • Delicious salad, very similar to the taste of some potato salads with dill. In fact, I would consider adding small boiled potatoes to the dish to make it a complete meal.

  • I've made similar lentil salads before, but this is the best of the bunch. I made the salad exactly as written in the main recipe, using the suggested mint vinaigrette. Delicious. Since lentils can be a bit grey looking, I fried up some spinach with lemon and garlic, and served it with the addition of tzatziki on the plate. It made a nice combination, which I plan to repeat.

  • I made this for our Passover Seder. Delicious! Will make it "my" annual meal.

  • This is a very simple recipe that is good on a cold evening. The soup was fragrant and delicious. It did not have any vegetables, unlike some other mulligatawny soups. I added a serving of brown rice to the bowl, as Madhur Jaffrey suggested. My husband rated this recipe as a nine out of 10!

  • I've been trying to eat a more plant based diet with mixed results. This recipe may help me turn the corner and stick with it. The meal was absolutely delicious. There are a number of variations to keep this easy recipe interesting. Definitely will make this again!

  • Very easy and tasty dish. Great for a night when you just don't feel like cooking. Tastes MUCH better than it looks! I think it would be bland without the optional chilis.

  • This is the first recipe that I cooked from this book, and I'm very happy that I made it. My daughter, adopted from China, often complains that I can't cook Chinese food. This recipe changed all that. If you buy ready made soy sauce chicken from the Chinese deli, there are few ingredients and it takes little time (if you have made the stock ahead of time!) Delicious and home-style. I followed the recipe and my daughter and her Asian-American friend told me to add more soy sauce and fewer noodles next time around. They loved it.

  • This is a very tasty recipe. I used the suggested amount of ground chipotle chili, and I found spicy, but the amount of heat was just right for me. You may want to cut it back (or use a milder chili) if you don't like a lot of spice.

  • This was a tasty, quick and easy dish. It's not an unusual recipe, as I've seen many variations on it, but I must say that I enjoyed it exactly as written. I like the fact that the sauce can be made several hours in advance, and that it freezes well. Good for solitary nights when I just want to curl up with a good bowl of pasta!

  • My family LOVED this dish! I don't remember having used morels before, but they will be a welcome addition to my future meals. The mushrooms were meaty, and gave a wonderful flavor to the broth. When I make it again, I will probably double the amount of beans.

  • This recipe is for a somewhat-standard twelve-bean soup, uplifted by Lorna Sass' touch. The spices add a layer of complexity to the dish. Don't skip the mint and balsamic vinegar that is added at the end. This will be a family standard through the upcoming winter season!

  • This recipe was perfectly seasoned. We all enjoyed it. However, some found that the sweetness of the onions detracted from the flavor of the dish.

  • I checked my chocolate quick bread early, and removed it from the oven. My oven is usually spot-on. The taste was fine, but it nwas very dry. If you make this recipe, check it much earlier than suggested!

  • This recipe may not suit every taste, but our family decided that this was the best chana masala recipe that I've made. It is highly fragrant, not at all like some of the watered-down-for-American-taste chanas that I've tried. We thought it might taste too strongly spiced until we added the final layer of mustard seeds and oil. Fabulous!

  • This easy recipe was very good, but I thought there was too much ghee in it. The butter flavor overwhelmed the taste of the dhal and the coconut. I will make it again, but will taste it as I add the ghee.

  • Delicious recipe. Itthe dish is a bit less creamy than in some restaurants. I think they must add yogurt to it. I actually prefer it as written.

  • Omigosh! These are not the dreadful boringly white colored oatmeal cookies you get from the store. They are crispy/chewy cookies that you might find for a couple dollars each at a fancy bakery. I have never tasted such delicious oatmeal cookies.

  • I made this recipe for a sick friend. It has a very pleasant, refreshing taste and is not as sweet as ginger ale. I would make it again as printed for an adult, but would add more maple syrup if I were to make it for a child.

  • This was an easy and delicious recipe. I served it over brown rice for a filling meal. Next time I would add less vinegar to begin with, and check for flavor. We added sriracha sauce at the table for a bit of a kick.
