Biography

Simone Ortega wrote about cooking for over 50 years and three generations of Spaniards learned to cook through her books on gastronomy, which have sold millions of copies nationwide. She was considered one of the foremost authorities on traditional Spanish cooking, and contributed articles and recipes to countless newspapers and magazines. She died in 2008.
