Biography

ELEANOR FORD is a food writer, recipe developer, and food stylist. She has traveled to seventy countries, seeking out the best food in each, but has had a special passion for Indonesia since childhood, when she spent a great deal of time there because her architect father designed hotels in Bali and Java. One particular gray winter in London, not too long ago, she and her husband, Sebastian, decided to move back to Indonesia with their young children, Otto and Sylvia, so that they too could experience the colors, sounds, and tastes that captivated her as a child. They’ve since moved back to London for school.

Ford’s prior cookbook, Samarkand: Recipes & Stories from Central Asia & the Caucasus(2016), received glowing reviews, features, and author interviews in outlets such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Boston Globe, Los Angeles Times, Vice, Publishers Weekly, Smithsonian, Eat Your Books, Food52, and more. It was named a book of the year by The Guardian and Food52's Piglet Tournament of Cookbooks, and awarded a Food and Travel Prize by the Guild of Food Writers.
