Biography

Ixta Belfrage’s unique style of cooking draws inspiration from three main countries: Brazil (where her mother is from), Italy (where she spent her formative childhood years) and Mexico (where some of her family lived). She cut her teeth at Ottolenghi’s NOPI restaurant before working at the Ottolenghi Test Kitchen for 5 years, where she developed a style of cooking that is unapologetically fusion and full of flavor. In 2020 she co-authored the New York Times bestselling Flavor with Yotam Ottolenghi, and in 2021 she was named one of the most influential women in food by Code Hospitality.
