Jackie Mills

Biography

Jackie Mills is the author of 1,000 Diabetes Recipes and The Big Book of Diabetic Desserts. Jackie was the recipe developer for American Medical Association Type 2 Diabetes Cookbook. She contributed recipes to Low-Sugar Baking and to two volumes of Taste of Home Diabetic Cookbook. She was the nutrition consultant for The Kitchen Diva's Diabetic Cookbook by Angela Shelf Medearis.

She is a frequent contributor to The DX: The Diabetes Experience, the consumer website for people with diabetes sponsored by the pharmaceutical company, Sanofi. Jackie also creates diabetes and heart-healthy content for promotional materials for Merck.

Jackie has worked as a cookbook editor for Weight Watchers International for more than five years, serving as editor for a dozen books. She has developed recipes for the American Heart Association, the American Institute for Cancer Research, and many national magazines including Better Homes and Gardens, Cooking Light, Family Circle, Cottage Living, Country Home, Cooking Pleasures, and Coastal Living. She was the food editor at Redbook magazine and worked as an associate food editor at Southern Living magazine.

Jackie lives in Jackson Heights (Queens), New York. She was born and raised in Kentucky and has roamed the South, living in Alabama, Florida, Texas, and Maryland and understands the challenges of finding delicious recipes the entire family will enjoy.
