Building from Martha Stewart’s notion that food is the new fashion (Lindsay, February 11), the place to be seen this May is the 10th Noosa International Food & Wine Festival! It’s on between May 16 and May 19 2013. With apologies to Lindsay who wanted “foodie” removed from the lexicon, this is a fantastic “foodie” event: chefs, music, food trails, demonstrations, dinners.. all based in beautiful Noosa, on Queensland’s sunshine coast. The opening event is a gala concert “Edible Music” with Tetsuya Wakuda, David Thompson, Ben Shewry, Yoshihiro Narisawa, David Kinch, Peter Gilmore, Carlo Cracco, Mauro Colagreco, André Chiang and Mark Best cooking along with the Queensland Virtuosi orchestra, conducted by Guy Noble. The closing event is a fantastic degustation dinner of eight courses prepared by Martin Benn, Mark Best, Mauro Colagreco, Carlo Cracco, Peter Doyle, David Kinch, Andrew McConnell and Ben Shewry with Matt Preston hosting the evening….
