I'm Laura in southern California. I've always been a cook, but in recent years I've become allergic to so many foods that I have no choice but to make everything from scratch, all the time. No cheating with bouillion cubes or storebought pesto and no restaurants, ever.
SO, I'm doing a lot of reworking old recipes and searching for new ones. This site is such a great idea! I have many cookbooks that I love and used to cook out of a lot, but in recent years I've found myself just googling up something new rather than taking a book down off the shelf. But now I have twenty-some thousand recipes (from my favorite writers) at my fingertips!
Last night I found a recipe that I had made once years ago, loved, and promptly lost. Worth the price of admission right there.
