Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Creamy Dijon dressing paired with spinach and avocado-citrus salad

    • GiselleMarie on February 28, 2022

I had oranges and avocados so I tried this recipe despite the fact that it’s from a Truvia ad. I can’t stand the taste of sugar substitutes or sweet salad dressings, so I used 1 teaspoon of white sugar in place of the 2 teaspoons of Truvia. This dressing is pretty bad. It’s way too heavy on the vinegar and lemon juice and it just lacks flavor. I added some salt and served feta cheese as a salad topping, which improved it. I have some dressing left over, and I plan to improve it further by adding minced garlic and more olive oil. I won’t make this again.

  • Bulgur salad

    • GiselleMarie on February 21, 2023

This is only OK. I usually have all these ingredients in the house, so I might make it again but only because it’s convenient.

  • Asian steamed fish

Delicious! Fun to make. A real treat! The Chicken Egg Drop Soup on the same page is also outstanding.

  • Chicken egg-drop soup

    • GiselleMarie on January 30, 2019

This is the best egg drop soup! Even without chicken, it would be delicious. I added chopped collard greens and they stood up well to reheating. My 35-year search for an egg drop soup that I can call my own is over.
