    With all of these strong-flavoured ingredients, had high hopes for a very tasty dish. Unfortunately, it wasn't well-balanced & I think it could've benefited from a 'less is more' approach. Also found the breading was very challenging to stay stuck, though this may be dependent on the type of haloumi used, as I suspect a drier variety might be more successful.

• Crumbed snapper with fennel and potato bake and vincotto butter sauce

    The vincotto sauce seemed too overpowering for this dish, so I'll definitely steer clear next time, but the crumbed snapper & fennel/potato bake were fantastic. Suspect they'll be on high-rotation at our place as inhaled by hubby & kiddo.

    A super impressive dish. I made it with chicken instead of snapper for non-fish loving friends and it was delicious. Keen to try making the original snapper version

• Persian chicken in pomegranate and walnut sauce

    Love pomegranate molasses, but this was cloying. Not a well-balanced sauce at all & I couldn't resurrect it.

    Recipe worked fine, but the dish was only so-so. Plenty of other better recipes out there covering the same territory.

    My hubby & toddler loved this entire dish. I thought it was nice enough, though I did feel that the components clashed a bit (too much cultural 'fusion'). Each component was quite tasty though!

• Roasted pumpkin and white bean salad

    A great recipe. I did cheat & use canned beans, together with using black garlic instead of roasted garlic paste. Very simple to put together.

    I've made this salad over and over and it goes really well with roast lamb or fish. Josephine pears work best. You can also use frozen broad beans

• Lemongrass and palm sugar panna cotta with orange and chilli caramel

    I've made this twice and it is a great dessert for an Asian themed dinner party. The coconut tends to separate but that doesn't impact the flavour. I've never made the chilli caramel though.
