I have been adding some personal recipes and find that your ingredient list is not as comprehensive as I would like. For example, you can get "whole-wheat flour" but not "whole-wheat pastry flour". I looked under whole-wheat, under flour, under pastry flour... So the question is why can't we, the users, add to our ingredient list?

Whole wheat without the dash will bring up whole wheat pastry flour.

apattin, as anightowl mentioned, the ingredient you want already exists in the EYB Ingredients database as 'whole wheat pastry flour' (two words, no hyphen). For most of our ingredients that start with or contain the phrase 'whole wheat' (over 200 at present), we also have 'whole-wheat' and 'wholewheat' spelling variations, but since these ingredients have been created over almost a decade by a team of EYB staffers, there are bound to be inconsistencies and omissions. I've added 'whole-wheat pastry flour' and 'wholewheat pastry flour' variations to the master EYB ingredient 'whole wheat pastry flour'. Whenever you're looking for an ingredient you expect should exist -- we have just under 35,000 ingredients and counting! -- but can't locate using various spellings, hyphenations, word orders, etc., feel free to send an email to [email protected] and I'll either create the ingredient for you or let you know how to index it.
