If your shelves are groaning and you've sworn you'll never buy another cookery book don't read on!

I'm sure lots of you know this but I thought I'd mention it just in case... I often buy books from the sale section on indigo.ca. They often have hundreds of cookbooks at at $10. Big names and recent releases often feature, I just indulged in Marcus Samuelsson's Marcus at home $10 instead of $50!

Thanks Raybun! I just bought the same book at Indigo. Other great venues for cheap cookbooks are Homesense and Value Village (the latter depends on your timing). I found a gently used copy of Hazan's Essentials of classic Italian Cooking for $4.99 at Value Village. My shelves are really groaning!

I'm with you two on this. Homesense, Chapters sale items. I never leave without a cookbook or two. I also just started going through a box of old recipe cards (and some books) of my grandmother's. Fun stuff. I've been checking out the under $10 cookbooks on indigo.ca. and am planning to order Country Cooking of Italy. Thanks for the info!

For CindyinOttawa, if you are indeed located in Ottawa, the VV on walkley occasionally has great finds. I bought a large le creuset Dutch oven there for $25. Happy treasure hunting!

Attention fellow Canadians! There are some fabulous deals at Chapters Indigo these days. For example, Canal House Cooks Everyday is selling for $5.00! The stores are clearing old stock for the Christmas shipments.

Attn: Canadians in southern Ontario, homesense has Ottolenghi's Sweet for $24.99. (Less than Amazon). North American edition but contains weights too. I've seen it in several stores now in various towns.

Also at Homesense, I bought Diana Henry’s Simple Effortless Food, Big Flavors for $12.00.
