I sort of understand but when you have more than 100 books, they clump around "a" and "the" to the point of beling difficult to retrieve. Maybe this could be a user option. I think, ultimately, that not dropping the intitial article is a mistake. Peole have found materials in libraries for hundreds of years with dropped articles. The issue has little or nothing to do with the professional qualifications of "most" members, rather it is an information retrieval issue. I would be willing to bet that you'll need to revisit the issue once you have been up and running for a year. Trust me!

The search results sorts were meant to ignore the articles but somehow that didn't happen. We are currently revamping search and part of that is that the sorts will be on the word after the article.
