Can someone with more experience help me troubleshoot what went wrong? I made the chocolate-orange-espresso thins from Martha Stewart’s Cookies. The recipe has you roll the dough in a log then chill it. When you take it out, you slice, brush with water, and sprinkle with sanding sugar. I had my oven at 350 as it said, but didn’t use my convection fan. I’m not sure what I should have done differently so that they would have spread into a thin crisp as they were supposed to. I followed the recipe pretty exact, except for creaming butter and sugar and stirring by hand instead of with my stand mixer. Any ideas?
