Not a big deal, but just a warning so you are aware of the situation.

When I searched for chicken scarpariello under Library recipes, I got 41 hits with only one recipe that has an indication of being on my bookshelf. However, I saw that some of these recipes were in books that I own, so I searched for the same under My Bookshelf recipes and I got 6 hits.

chawkins - I'm not sure what you mean by "has an indication of being on my bookshelf". You don't see anything on the Library Recipes search that would indicate a recipe is on your Bookshelf. If you are thinking that seeing the blue +Bookshelf button means it is on your Bookshelf, it doesn't, it means the recipe has an Online Recipe link so can be added to your Bookshelf. Any recipe that appears on a search of your Bookshelf will also appear on a search of the Library (apart from, of course, Personal Recipes).

If I have misunderstood the point you are making, apologies. Please supply some more details.

As I understnd it, the blue +Bookshelf indicator are for recipes that has an on-line source listed and therefore  I could add it to my bookshelf if I so desired. However, for recipes that I have on my bookshelf,  bookshelf preceded by a check sign is displayed where the blue +Bookshelf indicator is for recipes with on-line source. For recipes not on my bookshelf and have no on-line source, that line stated with the star rating. May be i have been wrong all these years.

If you are looking at Books you see a check mark and Bookshelf for books you own and the blue +Bookshelf button for books you haven't added. But for recipes there is no such indication (because you cannot add individual recipes without Online Recipe links to your Bookshelf). Could you send us a screenshot of the chicken scarpariello recipe you saw that indicated it was on your Bookshelf?

Ah, I finally get it I think. The recipe that has a check Bookshelf on it was from seriouseats, which I have on my bookshelf, and of couse with an on-line source. The other 5 are all from books I own and have no on-line source. So the check Bookshelf indicator is only applicable to on-line recipes. Sorry, Jane, for the mix up.
