Always wondered how list's are ordered.....

I've just been into the recipes section and before I entered any search terms it's listed recipes but I can't work out why in its in that particular order. I entered a search term and again there's a list of recipes using the search term but again why is the first recipe shown at #1 rather than #10.

While I'm at it if I search for pork fillet it also gives me results for pork ie pork chops, pork sausages etc and for fillets ie fish fillets chicken fillets etc In order to get just pork fillet do I enclose search term in quotes?

Mostly use Android phone S21+ if that makes a difference.

Most searches (not specicially EYB) search for all words first then for any words

So the first pass is recipes mentioning pork and fillet

Then you get any mention of pork and may get results for fish fillets too as the words are pulled out separately

To search for an exact phrase you use "pork fillet" complete with quotes

I'm not sure about the sort order, it has puzzled me a bit, my guess is newest results added to the database first?

The default sort order, for books and recipes, before you enter any search term, is latest indexed. Once you enter the search term or select filters, the default is most relevant. So recipes with the words in the title will appear at the top.
