Hello!

I am in the process of collecting coobooks by Alice Medrich and I just recently noticed on Amazon that her book Seriously Bitter Sweet is stated as being a "complete revison" of Bittersweet: Recipes and Tales of a Life in Chocolate.  However, in reading the reviews of SBS, many have stated that is is an exact reprint of Bittersweet and not a revision.  Has anyone here seen both versions and could verify this for me?  I am asking because, acording to Amazon's details for both books, Bittersweet has 50 more pages.  I do see that the book size changed slightly between the two eitions, but does this small change result in 50 less pages?  If not, I'm curious to know what was left out.  I am definitely leaning towards getting Bittersweet since it comes in hardcover and I'm intrigued by the "tales of a life in chocolate" but if there have been revisions that are worthwhile I would definitely consider getting Seriously Bitter Sweet.  Any help with figuring out the differences between these books (if there are any) would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks!!

I just checked and both are indexed.  Seriously Bittersweet has 14 more recipes listed.  You could go thru the indexes side by side and see if you care about the extra recipes.

Thank you for the recommendation!  I did the side-by-side comparison and wrote down the extra recipes to consider.  I then did a quick check on my local library's online catalog and it turns out my local library actually has both books.  I have no idea why it didn't occur to me to check there first...oof.  I put them both on hold and will pick them up after the holiday.  I plan to do a thorough overview of each book and then I will report back here with my findings in case anyone else has the same questions I do about these two books.  Thanks again!
