I am just finding my way around this site but I really love it and find it very practical. I know you are still in beta, but are there any plans to make the Shopping List editable? There are many pantry items that I wouldn't need to buy, so out of every 10 items called for I probably only need to purchase 4 of them.

For the time being, I'll just ask for the shopping list and then write down what I actually need to purchase along with my other needed groceries. If I could edit it, I could take off what I don't need, add things that aren't associated with EYB and save a tree.

Good work though - lots of great features.

Yes, we do plan to re-do the shopping list, as part of our development of an iPhone/smartphone app.  We plan to make the shopping list editable in various ways:

  • Create your own store cupboard so items you know you always have in stock do not appear in your shopping list

  • Enter quantities

  • Add other items to the shopping list

  • Email or text the shopping list to someone else

We will be asking for feedback from members on other features they would like to see added before we start the development.

Jane, please don't forget us Blackberry folks when you're developing apps...even though there are more of us, we always seem to get left out in the cold. I know BB is harder (and not so much fun) to develop for; but we're out there, and we're not going away. I'm sure the Android folks want to play, too. Thanks! - Laura

Rather than designing lots of apps for different phones we plan to have a mobile interface so any EYB member in the world can use EYB while on the move.  You can actually do it now but obviously the screens are not designed for small phone displays.
