Sorting Do Later   Go to last post Go to last unread

Hi,

When looking for a particular recipe I often tag several other interesting ones as "Do Later" but as my list gets longer it frustrating specific recipes gets more challenging.  It would be helpful if you added key ingredient to the sort option since recipe names often have the key ingredient as the second or third word.

Hi Deb

I'm not really clear on what you are asking for here.  We don't differentiate ingredients as key so any searches are for all ingredients (except store-cupboard) contained in the recipe.  Quick search will also look for the search term in the recipe name.  When we introduce our revamped search in the next couple of weeks, you will be able to bookmark recipes in any way you want so for example you could have 'Do Later - chicken' and 'Do Later - beef'.  Let us know if this doesn't answer your question.

Jane,
I would like to be able to search just my DO LATER List by ingredient so the bookmark feature will accomplish that. Recently I was looking for interesting ways to preserve a bumper crop of broccoli brought on by the heat wave and identified several recipes to do later. Finding those recipes later required hunting through 150 DO Laters or rerunning the search to find them again. The bookmark will make it easier. By the way - Broccoli Spinach Puree in the New Basics by Russo & Lukins is a terrific -freezable recipe. The spinach, lemon and nutmeg keep the taste bright and it will be a great summer taste for a winter soup, green curry, filling for baked potatoes....the possibilities are numerous..
Thanks
Deb

Hi Deb,

Something you might want to consider doing until the "bookmark" feature is activated.... I've been using the "Menu" feature to save my searches. For example, today I was searching for recipes using Manchego cheese. I created a new Menu called "Manchego" and added all the recipes I was interested in to that file instead of my "Do Laters" so I could refer back to it at a later date.

Regards,
Sue

That is definitely a good way of storing searches that you want to refer to again.  When we set up the new Bookmarks all your existing Menus, Favorites, Do Laters and Categories will transfer over so you won't lose any data.

@SueMmm - Thanks so much for that suggestion!  I am a complete newbie here and appreciate any ideas on how to get the most out of my membership. Perhaps we should start a new thread of helpful hints.
