A book I tried to add to the bookshelf came back that its' ISBN isn't in EYB's Library.

I have a number of reprints from sources like G00gle Books  that have been out of print for over a century, is there no way to add them or must I relie on Library to be able to catalog my collection?  I don't expect too many to want indexing of my book on Brit bacon styles that has been out of print since 1862.  But I want it cataloged along with the rest of my food books.

Can be done?

The response "the ISBN isn't in the EYB Library" means that we will try to add the book, if we can find the data on Amazon.  If Amazon doesn't list the book either, then it cannot be added at this time.  This will usually apply to pre-ISBN books as the ISBN number is the unique identifier by which we locate the book on Amazon.

We do intend at some point to add a feature that would allow members to add the data for books themselves, in which case the ISBN would not matter.

However, if you wish to index any of the books you could not add, then we will add the book data manually for you.  We would need you to email us at [email protected] with the book title, subtitle, ISBN if there is one, author, publisher, country and date of publication,  # of pages, and the cover image from a scan or photo.

I checked our import records and I could not find any books you had recently imported, though I could see imports you did in 2010, 2011 and 2012.  Could you try again as it looks like they didn't process?

I just clicked on the Library and then books sorted by date added to the library.  The third entry was teh book not known by EYB.

I'm assuming that in this case library is the books that EYB has in their system and the book shelf with a check mark means it is in fact in my system.  I think I need to spend more time learning this system.

Glad to hear you found your book eyepaint.  You can add any URL link into Forum comments - highlight the text that you want the link to relate to then click the link icon above (third from the right).  You can then insert the URL.  The text then appears as blue which denotes a link.
