I have cleared the cache on my phone's Samsung IE app and it hasn't worked.

Maxineanna - can you please confirm what you mean? What I meant in my post was that clearing your cache deletes the tag that the widget recognizes you by. So the icon pops up again. You will need to hide it again each time you clear your cache - or know that if you have an automatic clearing going on, then it will become visible again each time.

Sorry, I didn't understand the explanation. I'm not sure that I do now. Are you saying that it isn't possible to make the green widget go away permanently (unless i keep clearing the cache)?

No, the opposite. Clearing your cache makes the icon reappear.

Hi Jane, as I understand #2 it means someone with accessibility settings has to turn them off before they post - is this correct? I am thinking that this defeats the purpose of accessibility settings if someone has to set and reset accessibility settings to post. Not sure if the tech guys can have a "plain text" button in the editor that would override any local formatting settings?

Each device and browser brand has its own built-in accessibility features, so some may be disabled depending on the device and browser brand. Firefox is limiting the profiles to four.
