Notes on the book v notes on a recipe   Go to last post Go to last unread

I've noticed that some people make notes on a specific recipe but they do it on the book as a whole (i.e on 101 uses for tripe there will be a note "I made the tripe chew toys and my dog loved them"*). If I at some stage search for chew toys recipes, will that note be shown, or will it only come up if I read the notes on the book?

Members add Notes to books when the recipe has not yet been indexed.  When you search you are searching the book title, author name, recipe title and ingredients. And category searches should use the filters in the right side column. A mention in Notes would not come up in your results.  We would get more false results if we included Notes in our recipe searches e.g. you don't want to see recipes where the member noted "I made this to serve with apple pie" when you search for apple pie recipes.

Ah OK - I knew the notes didn't come up in search results, but that answers my question - if the note is made in the book it doesn't then show on the indexed recipe.
