Hi there -  I'm a brand new user on this site.  Is there a way to find specific recipe from a book I put on my bookshelf....rather than scrolling throughs the recipes.  I know the recipe I want is in this book, but I don't know how (or if) I can access the table of contents or the index.  Thank so much!!

Hi, LCBQuilter, and welcome to EYB! If the book has been indexed, either by EYB's pro team ("Indexed" will be displayed) or by one of our members indexing their own book (labeled as "Member Indexed"), then yes, you can search just within that book to find a specific recipe. From the EYB Library/Books, or My Bookshelf/Books, locate the book you're interested in, then click on its title to go to the Book Details page. Just beneath the row of Recipes / Notes / Reviews / Bookshelves / More Detail tabs, you'll see a link: Search this book for Recipes. Click on that link to go the Recipe page, where you'll see the book title displayed in the search box. After the book title, enter the full name of the recipe, a significant word or words in the recipe title, or a key ingredient, and hit Enter.

If the book you're interested in hasn't been indexed yet (the words "Request Index" will be displayed in the Library/Books or My Bookshelf/Books listing), unfortunately you won't be able to see a list of recipes. EYB doesn't reproduce the recipes themselves or the book's TOC or back-of-the-book index as that would violate copyright; we create our own much more detailed searchable index of each recipe's title, significant categories, major ingredients, etc.

LCBQuilter - since you are a new member I would encourage you (and all new members) to go through our tutorials. They will help you understand all the features of the site. The tutorials are accessed from the green Need Help? button at bottom right (available on computers and tablets but not phones).
