I'm really happy you were able to get the books without any problems! Mail delivery from the Southern Hemisphere can be spotty, but everything I've ordered from Livraria Cultura in Brazil has arrived pretty promptly. Enjoy the books -- I think they're wonderful, too! I'm constantly amazed at the staggering variety of sweets the Portuguese manage to produce from such a limited palette of ingredients. If I ever get organized, I want to make some "doce de chila/gila" (candied squash) which is eaten by itself as a spoon sweet but is also an essential ingredient in many of the other sweets. It's hard to find the actual chila squash outside of Portugal, Spain or some Latin-American countries, but spaghetti squash works perfectly well as a substitute. Please let me know if you try it yourself, I'd like to know how it comes out!
