Shopping List and Search Suggestion   Go to last post Go to last unread

I love the site and find it extremely helpful!  It has cut down my menu planning time down significantly.  I have a few suggestions for shopping list and searches.

I'd like to be able to do a couple things if possible:

1.  Delete a recipe from my shopping list

2.  Have more than one shopping list (in case I'm planning a party or planning ahead)

3.  I'd like to be able to exclude a cookbook from my search.  (Sorry, just realized I can do this using the Bookshelf feature but it's still difficult to exclude just one)

I'm sure some of these have been covered before but I couldn't find any history.

Thanks for these suggestions we really value feedback as it helps us plan future enhancements and features for the site.

A revamp of the shopping list feature is high on our 'to do' list.   Being able to delete recipes from the list will be included.  Also adding and deleting other ingredients and quantities.  The shopping list will also be a major part of the mobile phone application so that you always have it with you in a readable format.

Suggest when you're planning a menu that you create a Bookmark for it and add recipes to it as you go. Once it's final and you're ready to shop then add all the recipes to the shopping list.

You can exclude an author or book from your recipe searches by putting a minus sign before the name which should be in quotes - so:

-"silver palate cookbook"

If you only wanted to see recipes from this book then take away the minus sign.

Hope this is useful.

Thanks, Fiona, I actually find that last tidbit very useful as I was going to ask if there was a way that one could search the recipes of just one particular book. I'd like to focus on cooking more out of certain books before flitting to the next one, and this feature should make it a bit easier.

Cheers!
