I am currently going through my entire recipe collection of keepers and noting what I have made in EYB.

One issue I have found is that if I don't own a book I cannot bookmark a recipe however sometimes I got the recipe from a magazine (which isn't currently available in the library) or I may have found it online but the site's recipes are not indexed. Sometimes I don't have a clue where I got it from, but I have printed it out and cooked it, but have lost the initial source but want to keep the recipe and don't necessarily want the entire book.

My workaround right now is to drop a private note on the recipe. But this means that most of my keeper recipes are in a master list folder but some of my other keeper recipes are just notes that I can only find if I search all my notes.

Wondering if it is possible to add the bookmark feature for individual recipes in books when we don't own the entire book, seeing as we are able to put notes on them?

I save recipes of this sort as personal recipes. That way I can search them. It's easy to index and save them, and to include a source.

Interesting, I hadn't thought of that.

I expect I would still need to do two searches though when looking for a recipe in my collection as I aasume when you add a recipe to your personal collection that isn't in a book that you currently own I expect that it still doesn't add that recipe to your bookshelf?

If that is the case, at least it would be searchable via the Personal Recipes button rather than having to check all my notes, so thanks for that tip I may have to do that.

I do wish though that I could add recipes to my bookshelf that were in books I don't own so all my keepers could be in the one folder!

Personal Recipes are on your Bookshelf and are included in your recipe searches.

Bookmarks are a feature of your Bookshelf which is why you cannot apply them to random recipes in the Library,
